Chemical Peels

 A chemical peel is a non-surgical skin resurfacing procedure, whereby a non-toxic solution is applied to the skin.  We offer a variety of chemical peels from superficial, medium and deep peels. Chemical peels are great for treating scarring, acne, sun damage and pigmentation. Skin Peels, rejuvenate, brighten, stimulate collagen production, eliminate pigmentation and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Optimum results are achieved following a course of 3-6 peels. The strength of each peel may vary accordingly. Chemical peels can be performed every 2-4 weeks until the desired treatment results are achieved. Then after 3-6 month chemical peels may be required for maintenance of the skin. Procedure peels can be uniquely customised and tailored to individual patient needs. 

• A thorough cleanse of your skin, to ensure removal of oils and debris. 
• Secondly, a deeper cleanse of your skin to ensure greater protection against infection, 
• A thin coat of a chemical peel solution will be applied to your skin with an applicator brush taking care to avoid your eyes. 
• We allow your skin to be at rest for a short period of time depending on your skin type and sensitivity. 
• A neutralising solution is sprayed gently onto your skin. 
• All the excess solution is gently dabbed off your skin. 
• Your skin is then re-examined. 
• Following re-examination sun protection is applied to your skin. 
• A comprehensive post treatment care advice plan is discussed .

Days 1-2: You may experience mild symptoms of redness, tingling, mild itching, dryness and a tight skin feeling. 

Days 3- 5: You may experience mild to moderate skin peeling/shredding, minor breakout and minor itching.  

Days 6-7: You may still be experiencing mild skin peeling. 

*NOTE: Superficial peels have very minimal downtime, however with deeper chemical skin peels the skin may continue to peel for up to 7 days 

• Apply soothing and hydration product(s) as advised by your medical nurse aesthetic practitioner. 
• Aim to drink 6-8 glasses of 170-200mls of water a day. 
• Apply sunscreen as advised by your medical nurse aesthetic practitioner. *Note: Limit your time spent outdoors .
• Make a follow-up appointment(s).

• Do not apply make-up for 24 hours following treatment.
• Do not pick at skin, let it shed/peel naturally.  
• Strict sun and tanning beds avoidance is advised for 2 weeks post procedure. 
• Ensure exposure to the sun either outside or through glass or windshield is avoided. 
• Do not heat the skin (i.e. hot showers) for a minimum of 24-48 hours post procedure. 
• Do not exercise for a minimum of 24-48 hours post procedure. 
• Do not exfoliate the skin with a wash cloth, facial scrub or cleansing brush for at least 24-48 hours. All types of Retinoid or acid products should be avoided.
